Over the years Harpoon Eddie's has expanded many times, adding multiple patios and a cabana bar, as well as doubling the size of the inside of the restaurant. Starting with a small snack menu, it has developed into one the largest menus on the beach with eclectic stylings from all over the country. Rick likes to feature food that you can’t get anywhere else in the area, along with some local favorites and Italian infused cuisine. Rick, who also at times doubles as a chef, states that his favorite dish on the menu is the Sausage and Clams. He has also perfected his own top-secret recipe - the amazing and famous Harpoon Eddie’s Frozen Rum Runner!

Expansion, Innovation, & Excitement
Harpoon Eddie's is proud to have served delicious food, ice cold beverages, and breathtaking sunsets to Sylvan Beach for over 35 years.
There is a saying in the beach when you are hired at either Eddie’s or Harpoon Eddie’s, “That you become a part of the Eddie’s Family.” That is a saying that has held true for over 85 years in the Stewart Family, as generations of employees continue to come back and work at both restaurants summer after summer. The staff is a large part of the positive attitude and vibe that you receive when you walk through Harpoon Eddie’s doors, such a great place to work with an amazing view!
Every year Harpoon Eddie’s is a host and support to many locally sponsored events including: the Nova Volleyball Tournament, 3rd of July Fireworks, Pirates Weekend, Vettes at the Beach, Jeep Weekend, Canal Fest and so much more! Rick’s personal favorite event is the Harpoon 500, which is a winter snowmobile drag race on the ice directly in front of Harpoon Eddie’s, where he holds the record of owning one of the fastest snowmobiles in the world!
Harpoon Eddie’s is not just a bar or restaurant, it’s a destination where tourists and locals continue to return to year after year for a great atmosphere. Our motto is, “If you’re not on a boat there is no better place to be.”

Harpoon Eddie's Opens Its Doors
Harpoon Eddie’s opens its doors. The concept of the restaurant was to bring Florida to Upstate NY. Leslie and Edward Stewart Jr. opened Harpoon Eddie’s as a small beach bar to grab a drink at before heading to Eddie’s Restaurant for dinner (since they didn’t serve alcohol).
